Self provisioning...

The nearest shops to the base at Koh Chang where you can do any serious provisioning are a 2 hours round trip in an expensive taxi so if you are coming straight from the airport or across on the ferry then you will have no opportunity to provision yourself on Koh Chang. Once you set sail the only way to replenish your provisions will be to put in Bang Bao bay or on the White sands beach on Koh Chang and go shopping there. The archipelago islands have no such facilities.

If you are coming to Koh Chang a day or so before your charter you will have the opportunity of provisioning the yacht from the stores available on the Western side of the island. Similarly if you are staying in Bangkok and have room in the car or van to fit it in then you will be able to shop in the superstores and bring it with you. In our experience it takes two to three hours of fairly boring shopping to get your needs taken care of and you are bond to forget something.

Bear in mind that whilst the yacht is very well equipped in terms of galley equipment, you will nit find any food on the boat at all., so your provisioning should include everything you need from salt and pepper to T bone steak.

For those that do not wish to do their own shopping or cannot fit it into their schedule before they join the boat then we provide a provisioning service and will be happy to send you an emailed shopping list that you can complete and we will buy it for you and have it stowed on the boat before you arrive.

Eating ashore

Although there are few shops on the islands where you can buy food to prepare yourself there are numerous resorts and restaurants where you will be welcome to spend the evening or lunch and indeed it is simple to arrange an itinerary whereby you can dine ashore every night thereby reducing the cooking function to making sandwiches for lunch between islands.

Banking and Cash

Bear in mind that none of the resorts or restaurants have any credit card facilities and the only currency they accept is Thai Baht. The last ATM machine you will have to opportunity of drawing cash is at the Koo Chang end of the ferry.
